Today it’s the largest cargo sea port in Israel (in matter of cargo volume)
It has a stratigic location at the southern part of Israel, shortens the overland transport of cargoes from the southern and central parts Israel (close to the industrial area at the south.)
It’s locations, only 40 km north of the Gaza strip, makes it to serve as the “port of Gaza”
The port also serve many cruise lines as a port of call while cruise the Mediterranean sea.
